Underdogs are often perceived as those who have little or no chance of winning or making an impact. The odds are stacked against them. Yet, it has been said that “every hero started as an underdog.” Think David against Goliath. This suggests to us that ‘with God all things are possible” (or that God can make an ‘underdog’ a ‘top dog’.) Perhaps ‘underdogs’ have not tapped into the power within ourselves when we yield to the glorious power of God.’ God is not concerned about our weaknesses or insufficiencies. As Paul reminds us in 2 Cor. 12:9-11 that “when we are weak, God is strong.” In other words, so-called Underdogs can triumph with faith in God and God’s rich promises. God’s light is ready to shine in and through all of us that God’s kingdom might come on earth.
